The Speckman's were a wonderful family to meet. I love my job as a photographer because I get to meet so many amazing new people. The great thing about it, is when people are getting their portraits done they are always happy & excited and looking their best. I find it an awesome challenge to meet people for the first time and try to capture their true spirit through my lens. It's always the moments when the camera isn't on them in between shots that I really see who they are and how they interact with each other. The Speckman family was so full of joy. Really we had one of the most miserable days to shoot in ~ rain was pouring down....and they were all looking so cute with dad & his baby boy wearing matching shirts and ties...oh my goodness! Adorable! They were so anticipating this family photo shoot and nothing, I mean nothing was going to get in their way. The whole time they were full of joy and even laughter as raindrops were splatting on dad's head and running down his face. Mom was slipping off the plastic bag I had brought to sit on. Not many people would find humour in this......but the Speckmans did. The photos turned out fabulous despite the rain and you can feel the warmth coming from this family. You guys were fabulous....enjoy your photos!!

Summer in Review...
With school starting and fall sports schedules coming at me, I come to the realization....Summer is ending. Although our weather has been somewhat rainy and cloudy in the mornings it is still very muggy & mild. Usually by the afternoon the sun has come back out and is still pretty warm. Not quite cold enough to put on our winter sweaters or coats, but wet enough to pull out our rain jackets and umbrellas. I figured this is a good time to look at our summer in review. We had as much fun as we could. One of our highlights was heading up to Whistler to enjoy some summer mountain activities. Summer in the mountain mean biking!! Instead of skis on the lift it's bikes, instead of bindings and poles in the ski racks, it's bikes. You see helmets, gloves and goggles.....but to keep out the dirt & dust coming down the slopes instead of ice and snow. The boys and Trevor took in one of the legendary mountain thrills, Zip lines! We saw alot of wildlife and a black bear just walking down the sidewalk near the village like he owned the place...so cute! We hit the Farmers market and the BBQ competition ~ YUMMMMY~
If you haven't had the chance to visit Whistler, BC you should defiantly make it one of your "things to do" you will not be disappointed!

Speckman | Sneak Peek, Family Photographer | Surrey, B.C.
Another super cute family hits the blog! This is the Speckmans' Sneak Peek of their family portrait session at Stewart Farmhouse. We battled the rain but then decided to use it to our advantage with matching umbrellas....lol. Great fun, more coming soon.
