After School Snack!

Do you remember coming home from school as a kid and being ravenous, starving, faint from the lack of food?? Well, maybe it's not quite that bad, but you would think this is the case with my two boys and any friends that tag along. Every day they bound through the kitchen door after school and the first words out of their mouth....."Did you make an after school snack, Mom?" I am lucky enough to be at home during the day so my kids have been spoiled with homemade fresh baked goodies when they come home from school. My own fault really, I should have just never started.....they wouldn't know what they were missing! Sometimes it's as simple as Banana Blueberry Muffins or Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies. Other days when I am feeling more ambitious it could be Cream Cheese Pumpkin Roll or Magic Cookie Bars. Today was an ambitious day they came home to homemade Cherry Pie with Vanilla Bean Ice-Cream! I thought it would be fun for me to start blogging some of my cooking endeavors. Food is always fun to photograph and also challenging, to try and make it look as yummy as it tastes. Here is a first attempt, I started with the Cherry Pie. It was a hit with the kids.

Now doesn't this just make you want to jump up and get yourself some pie and ice-cream??

I Heart Faces ~ "Yellow"

This week's challenge is the color Yellow. Happy & joyful ~ that's what yellow means to me. So why not use a photo of the happiest place on Earth?? That's right, Disneyland! And who would be better than Snow White and her beautiful yellow gown. My daughter was also wearing her sunshine dress and was meeting the princess for the first time. The look of awe on her face is priceless. Check out the other sunny entries on iheartfaces

Happy Birthday to my little Taurus!

It was 12 years ago today my world changed forever. I gave birth to my second little blessing, my son Aidan Tallis. He came into this world faster than I was ready for, screaming at the top of his lungs, a big healthy cry ~ what every mother wants to hear seconds after their baby takes their first breath. It's been 12 years and he hasn't stopped screaming when he is happy, sad or excited! This second born child of mine is full of life. I have had my days when I think I don't have the energy to deal with his emotions ~ but if I just muster through I am rewarded with his overpowering LOVE! His love for life, his love for his family, his love for his imagination and creativity and his exhuberant love for me. He is true to his celestial sign born under the Bull ~ stubborn to the end, but he is just as much warm, gentle & passionate. His sweet dimples and beautiful curls melt my heart. He has tought me patience & compassion and I would never change a day he's been in my life. I have been truly blessed..... I love you my Aidy, Happy Birthday!!

I Heart Faces, challenge

This weeks I Heart Faces challenge is "Faces & Flowers". How perfect, with my little girls around I am always taking pics and they usually involve flowers or crowns! It was hard to choose but this is the one I am entering. I love the sunlit moss on the tree in the background and the way my little girl is missing her front tooth. I know this is a photo that will not stay this way for long as she gains and loses more teeth. Check out the many more fab entries by clicking http://www.iheartfaces.com/

Scott & Ericka ~ Part two.

As promised, here is part two of the Craig wedding. These would be more of the formal photos, the ones we took as we bounced along in our golf cart to the beautiful photo hotspots on the golfing greens. We even stopped half way through at the caddy shack and got some drinks to keep us (the groom) going!! The Falls Golf Club in Chilliwack is a stunning backdrop for any wedding. We had so much fun climbing rocks and jumping over waterfalls and even hitting a few balls.

Saturday

Scott & Ericka ~ Part One.

You know when two people have got it?? Like you look at that couple and can see the love between them, the natural comfort of just being together. The way they make each other laugh in their own secret world. This is what I had the honour of being a part of. I was the one who got to follow the bride & groom around and take little snapshots of their love. What a blessing, nothing in my eyes could be better. I'm the one who will chase a bride down or follow a wedding party in the park just to get a sneak peek of the dress, hair & flowers. It always puts a smile on my face, everything looking so beautiful and perfect. My cousin and her groom were no exception. A glorious sunny spring day, rolling golf greens, waterfalls, a gorgeous bride and a handsome groom. They made my job easy.....willing to climb rocks and swing golf clubs. All the while he's whispering in her ear and trailing tender kisses along her face. You could feel the love between the two of them, effortless & true. Thankyou Scott & Ericka for letting me into your special day in such an intimate way. Love you guys xoxox
This is part one of the wedding day and I'll post part two in the next couple of days.

Beaming Mother of the Bride, my beautiful Aunty Bev.

Escorted from the villa in a club golf cart. Taking a moment before walking down the aisle.

This is Ericka's son, he did such a great job walking her down the aisle.

The groom sees his bride for the first time. His son, the ring bearer at his side.
