I was able to convince my daughter Paige to come outside and let me take a few pictures of her today. I have been waiting for the sun to come out and the rain to stop on a day when I could have her hair brushed, her face clean and an agreeable frame of mind. These images I had in mind were to be a little more moody than your regular "smile for the camera" style. I wanted to try out some really fun processing with Photoshop, a little more dramatic than what I would normally do. Fifteen minutes of shooting and I got what I was after, and I must say pretty happy with the results!

Personal Randomness....
I have had the opportunity this past week to head out with some great people who are into the same photography passion as me......we made out way down to this cool little urban strip, in the POURING rain and wind to take some photos of each other! What's a better way to understand what it's like to be on the other end of the lens? It was so much fun and eveyone brought their own props to add to their images. All the ladies came with their hair and make-up looking perfect, by the time we were done we looked equivalent to a sopping wet mess:(
At least I was able to meet up with my mom & dad afterwards as they live close by to our shoot location, and went for an awesome burger & beer to warm up. Here is what I captured on our photography field trip!
Kaiden | Newborn Photographer | Ladner, BC
Here is some more of sweet little Kaiden's newborn photo session. This was the last part of Sheila & Ryan's "Bump n' Baby" gift certificate. You can check out the Expecting session here! Kaiden is welcomed by his three older siblings and completes the family of six! The session went off without a hitch, Kaiden was wakeful but content. He was happy to look around him and pose without much of a fuss. I had his big sister as my very helpful assistant and she even brought out her camera to act as my second shooter! Very cute, she is going to be such a great help for mom. We got a few family shots out of the way before one of his big brothers went of to lacrosse practice, and had family and friends coming and going to meet the new arrival. A very busy house and now with a new baby even more so. Luckily it seems as though Kaiden is going to fit right in and work within the family schedule ~ he seemed to be such a laid back little guy. Thankyou Sheila & Ryan for welocming me into your home to capture the first precious days of your new baby's life. Enjoy the ride!

Tyson | Newborn session | Studio
Check out this latest cutie to hit the blog. Meet Tyson! He came to my natural light home studio on a very rainy dark Saturday afternoon. It was so miserable out I was constantly moving my backdrop around looking for the best natural light. Luckily I have a wall that is all window so we were able to make the best of what we had and everything turned out great! This little guy was a bit older than what I like to usually shoot for a newborn but since he suprised mommy & daddy and came a month early he was still just so tiny. In fact he was smaller than some of my full term newborns! Such a sweetie, he was happy to pose by dad's football helmet and trophy or snuggle in mom's arms. We had a great afternoon and it was lovely meeting another new family. Welcome Tyson!
