Miss "Nike"

Can you get any cuter than this?!!? Adorable little Hayden and her Pink Nike Shoes. Absolutely fabulous...skinny jeans with the precision rip at the knee, pink Nikes and matching pink Nike Hoodie. This girl rocks the fashion scene, or at least mom & dad do!

Little Boy Photo Shoot!

This was such a fun photo shoot! I brought out all the fun toy props I could think of and hoped for the best. When dealing with a two year little boy, you never know what to expect. I really didn't think he would stay in one spot long enough to take even one good shot. Surprise, he was loving it!! I think this adorable little dude is destine for Calvin Klein. Take a look!

Friday

TGIF...

Yay, it's FRIDAY! Feels like this has been a long & busy week. Nothing out of the ordinary, just the usual working, school, sports, orthodontics, PAC meeting kinda weeks! For some reason I was just really looking forward to tonight.......Friday night. I get to go downtown tomorrow and get my hair done, a fun time always, my friend and I get to relax.....listen to good music.....order great pub food.....drink a little wine...nothing like getting pampered.

Then we get to head out and meet up with our scrapbooking group and put all these pictures to good use! Speaking of which...what a beautiful day we had today. The sun was shining and warm!! You know what that means ~ time for a photo shoot! I took the girls and stopped off at an awesome little field I discovered on the way taking my oldest son to the orthodontist....more on that later. The light was beautiful and I got some perfect shots.

Monday

at the Park...

We have been having some wonderful mild weather around here the past couple days. A pineapple express has come up from Hawaii and all the snow from our mountains is melting. This is not good as we are hosting the the Winter Olympics in a couple of weeks!  The parks were packed, people are out roller blading....you'd think it was spring in January. We took advantage and set out to a local park and I of course brought my camera.

Saturday

Days Gone By..

I have been going through some of my photos taken from previous events & trips. Some are pretty darn good. I'll be posting some of my favourites.

These photos were taken on a family trip to Seattle in the summer of 2008. The Public Market had an abundance of flowers everywhere. They even made bouquets out of peppers and garlic that were amazingly beautiful! We can't wait to go back and spend more than an afternoon!

While in Seattle we had to check out the Woodlands Zoo, the kids got to feed the giraffe. I thought this one with his purple tounge out was very cool. The leapord in the above photo is stunning...one of my top faves!

These are my two favourite girls. My daughter and her best friend. Everyone thinks they are twins and have done so since they were babies! This is just another typical day for them playing in the leaves in the backyard. The colors were so vibrant I couldn't help but running out with my camera to catch the moment.

Thursday

Playing..

Well, I took my new camera out for a walk yesterday. I brought my chicken scratch notes from the intro photography course and decided to PLAY. I played with the forced flash and I played with the natural light and I played with the depth of field. With my daughter as my model and neat path and a red coat, this is what I came up with.

Sunday

Welcome....

This is my first official post! I have had lots of fun designing my "Blogspot". This will be my first set of photos and hopefully there will be lots more to come. I have just upgraded to a Nikon D5000 SLR and can't wait to get out there and get some great shots!

The photo below was one of my favourites that I took of my nephew playing at the spray park. I submitted it to the local paper and the week after, I saw this front page on my doorstep. I was so excited, I chased the paper lady down the street and asked her for a bunch of extras that I sent out to my family that didn't live in my city! Including my nephew, Keynan.
